FAQ
Answers to your flotation questions:
The pure floatation session lasts 1 hour, to which you must add 30 minutes. Time for explanations, a shower and a cup of immortal tea to make the transition before returning to city life. We therefore advise you not to make an appointment immediately after the session, so that you don't feel rushed and can get the most out of it.
Just bring your hairbrush and day cream (and for contact lens wearers, remember to bring your own.) You won't need a bathing suit, as each area is individual. We'll lend you a towel, and there's shampoo and shower gel available.
You don't need a bathing suit to float
since you're alone in your space and in the cocoon. Being naked doesn't interfere with the experience of sensory isolation. However, if you're more comfortable in your bathing suit, there's nothing to stop you bringing it along - you're on your own!
Impossible to sink! It sometimes happens that you fall asleep in the cocoon. It's nothing serious, as you float automatically. As the water carries you completely, no part of your body is compressed. Your blood circulation remains fluid, so unconscious tossing and turning at night doesn't occur.
A sort of mini purification station is built into each cabin. Purification is active between each float, guaranteeing clean, sterile water at every float. It includes a 1-micron filter (40 times finer than in swimming pools) as well as a photocatalytic oxidation device, enabling us to avoid using chlorine. Although 900KG of magnesium salt play a major role in water purification, active oxygen is also used in microdose for safety.
For floatation sessions, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the session.
For combos, the deadline is 48 hours before the session.
All appointments made after these deadlines are due whether or not they are honored.
On the contrary, magnesium salt is very good for the skin and has been used for centuries to treat skin problems.
Just don't shave or wax the day before or the day of, as the disinfecting power of salt can cause tingling. In case of wounds, we have special bandages available. Avoid drinking coffee the day before floating, as it may interfere with the depth of your relaxation. Avoid heavy meals, too, as difficult digestion can cause drowsiness.
We've welcomed many people who were afraid of confined spaces. The cocoon is as big as the passenger compartment of a car (2m5 long, 1m70 wide, 1m30 high). You can leave the door open throughout the session, choose to keep the light on, choose to have sound guidance, and you're free to leave early. You're in control!
Floating is very popular with women at an advanced stage of pregnancy. It's a great relief to be carried by the water. Some mothers even report feeling a better connection with their baby. However, we recommend that you check with your doctor beforehand and avoid floating, like any other physical activity, during the first trimester of pregnancy.
It's just like going swimming. You have to make your own arrangements (wearing a tampon or cup is compulsory). But it's perfectly possible, and a great way of relieving menstrual pain.
Once the first 4 direct debits have been made, you can send an e-mail to contact.paris@meiso.fr or contact.lyon@meiso.fr with "cancellation request" in the subject line.
FLOAT TANK RENAISSANCE
Perhaps you've already heard of this relaxation and personal development tool during your travels? Floating in sensory isolation, or float tank, is well known in the USA, Canada, England, Sweden and Germany. The technique was invented by neuro-psychiatrist John C. Lily in 1954, and has been studied by the research community ever since. It's both an experience to be had and a real tool for inner exploration, and should be practiced regularly.
