The Meïsō centres in Paris
Meïsō has offered floatation in Paris since 2015. Our two Paris Oāsis, Olympiades in the 13th arrondissement and Barbès in the 10th arrondissement, welcome thousands of visitors each year in floatation rooms designed by our team.
Alongside floatation, our centres offer Combō sessions that combine an individual treatment with a float. Paris Olympiades also has a Sōnïce (infrared sauna and ice bath) and a Dojō for group workshops. Open every day. Hours vary by centre and day; see the opening hours for each Oāsis below.
What is sensory-isolation floatation?
Floatation takes place in an individual pool filled with water and Epsom salt (magnesium sulphate), with approximately 900 kg of salt per cabin. The dense water supports the body at the surface. It is maintained at around 35°C, while the cabin reduces light and sound.
In these conditions, the water’s buoyancy supports your body and creates a sensation of weightlessness. The quiet, low-stimulation setting offers space to pause, and each session can feel different.
Each session includes 60 minutes in the water, plus 30 minutes for your welcome, shower and time to relax with a complimentary herbal tea.
Relaxation and a calmer state
By reducing external stimulation, floatation offers a quiet setting for short-term relaxation. Small experimental studies in selected groups have observed lower state anxiety after a session, while individual experiences vary.
Comfort and physical relaxation
The buoyancy of the water supports the body with very little effort. The warm, quiet setting invites physical ease and muscular relaxation. Many athletes choose floatation as a calm part of their post-exercise routine.
Improved sleep
Many visitors describe feeling rested after floatation. The quiet setting offers a chance to slow down, and each person’s experience can be different.
